Collective Concepts: Why We Love… Arcadia
Welcome to Arcadia, a Money Magazine “Best Places to Live” honoree and one of Phoenix’s and Scottsdale’s most coveted luxury lifestyle neighborhoods. Location is everything. Arcadia is situated in an area that is immensely attractive to residents, straddling the eastern side of Phoenix and the western fringe of Scottsdale. Incredible natural beauty and supreme livability make Arcadia a residential jewel well worth the higher prices for homes and real estate.
Arcadia’s borders include 44th Street and 68th Street to the west and east, and Camelback Road and the Arizona Crosscut Canal to the north and south. Arcadia’s central location to both Phoenix and Scottsdale delivers ultimate convenience and availability of options for dining, entertainment, and fine living.
Despite its central location, Arcadia is an island of rural charms in the urban landscape. Streets are tree-lined and well manicured. Lot sizes are much larger than average, and low-slung ranch house designs allow for unobstructed visibility of mountains and desert.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is only a 20 minute drive. Easy availability of nearby freeways makes accessing other parts of Phoenix, Scottsdale, and surrounding cities fast and convenient.
Camelback Mountain is the literal backdrop to living in Arcadia. It’s the favorite scenic and hiking mountain for Phoenix active lifestyle locals. Gentle trails for kids and families, or more challenging routes if you want a workout in the desert air. From the top, 360-degree views of the Valley are spectacular.
Echo Canyon Recreation Area is immediately to the north and offers additional hiking, biking, and riding trails that provide an escape from the city. On the south side, the landscaped and manicured canal is a popular route for bikers, joggers, and walkers.
A couple generations ago, Arcadia was home to abundant citrus groves. Many of those trees live on today, in lush stands still connected to the original irrigation system. Arcadia’s signature look is immaculately maintained. Orange, grapefruit, and date trees, provide shade and scenery for remarkably large, ranch house-style lots with abundant room for barbecues and backyard play.
Arcadia also hosts its own 4th of July parade, which features a promenade of local kids on bikes, trikes, and wagons decorated in red, white & blue. It’s a little slice of enduring Americana that adds to neighborhood spirit and lifestyle.
Arcadia public schools, part of the Scottsdale Unified School District, are well maintained and stand out locally for quality of education.
